our lives continue increasingly to mean less and less-from the dat we are born,with the usual hopes and dreams;adolescence and the advent of sensuality;adulthood,the pursuit of 'dreams' (which is mostly for most of us a mask for - mere survival),the exploration of curiousity,marriage,kids,work achievements.death.the vast majority of us will be forgetten in fifty or so odd years after we die ,relegated,if lucky to an archive of figures.
we are nothing new!the lives we live are not original.a century,two centuries,fifty years ago,someonethought,felt and indeed did the same things we did/are doing.only perhapa the time was different,maybe the skin colour or tribal background.we are in effect animals(albeit intelligent)of repetition.the great things have been done:hitler's aryan dream of europe;napoleon's despotic designs on europe;j.ceasar'alexander;the pharoahs:leaders all we remember and will always remember!great men.now we have only conveyour-belt leaders and politicians,men of mediocrity;g.w.bush and his predecessors,kennedy,l.b.j,carter,clinton,bush;prodi,berlusconi;chirac,sarkozy;blair,major,thatcher,brown;kohl,merkel.the list is unending.men and women who would only be talked about only as mere references to certain times amd periods.
it is not to say,we are at fault,we are not.we are justvictims of our times-the 'watered down period',the already established part of mankind,yearning now,only for destruction and armaggedon.
it is immensely depressing,we are supposed to be the advanced,but give me anyday the chance to do meaningful thing,to risk my life,to live a worthy cause,to save jews from hitler,to rally against communism,to scream 'revolution',to fight and die the beautiful death of spartan warriors,to spend 20 years in jail fighting apparthied.
the drudgery of our common,selfish lives of advancement and civilizationand growth,and peace,and justice,and democracy and wealth!yet still mired in the midst of so much pain,povrty,disease,and suffering and stupidity!we've reached the end,we give,we can fight no more,leave us in peace,lets make love,have kids,grow old and die...
